Who can do without salt? If used wisely, this must-have ingredient in cooking can cover all our dishes, soups and stews. In addition, the coarse salt can be used to unblock the sink drains, remove wine stains on the carpets, clean the refrigerator, disinfect the cutting boards, remove cockroaches and much more.

So if some people put it in front of them, it is because there is a particular reason behind it. Let’s find out.

Why put salt outside the door?
It’s an old grandmother’s trick, always as practical and effective.

In fact, many people put salt at the entrance to their homes to keep the ants away. The properties of this ingredient, composed essentially of sodium chloride, cause them to flee instinctively. Like weeds, salt naturally hunts ants and at the same time destroys their nests.

So don’t worry about finding salt in your neighbor’s doorstep: that means he’s putting in place a natural system to prevent ants from gathering at the entrance to their house.

The method is simple: sprinkle salt where you have noticed the arrival of ants. Be aware, however, that once the shout ants have shown others to go, another line will be created.

Once you have spotted them, install a coarse salt barrier to prevent them from passing through the door.

Other uses of salt?
As mentioned above, salt has other virtues and can be useful in many situations. Here are some of them:

Soothe a bee sting: if you are attacked by a bee, moisten the injection immediately and then put salt on it.
Discard a fat fire: put salt on it to turn it off. Note: Never use water to put out a fat heat.
