Concerned about our planet (and the amount of waste we produce), more and more of us are looking for alternatives to reuse our peelings… Did you know that it was possible to easily recycle your banana skins? ? Here are 10 unexpected techniques that should be adopted urgently!

1 – AS FERTILIZER FOR PLANTS

You can put a banana peel in a glass vase, and add water. Then, introduce some aquatic plants, they will grow thanks to the nutrients from the banana. Some people also put pieces of banana peel on the soil in their flower pots.

2 – OBTAIN TENDER MEAT

Add a banana peel to the casserole before putting your meat in the oven. Perfect for grilled chicken which will retain all its juices or red meat which will not dry out!

3 – HYDRATE YOUR LEATHER SOFAS

By rubbing your leather armchairs or sofas with the inside of a banana peel, you will restore their suppleness and shine. However, don’t forget to dry them well with a dry cloth.

4 – POLISH THE SILVERWARE

To restore shine to oxidized pieces and cutlery, banana peel is the solution. To polish silverware, you can apply the inside of a banana peel directly and then buff with a cloth. Otherwise, mix a peel with water in a container and scrub the silverware.
